We’ve been through our fair share of baby pajama options over the last year and a half. We’ve tried two-piece sets, footed, footless, old-man style pjs (you know the ones with a collar and button down shirts) and the only thing I have found is that there’s definitely not a one-size-fits-all answer. I have favored different styles during different stages + seasons but overall, I keep coming back to baby deedee. If you haven’t heard of this company before, you are in for a treat!
I first found baby deedee when I was searching for a high-quality sleep sack that could handle Colorado winters. Everett’s room tends to get pretty chilly in the winter, even with the heat on, and it would break my heart when he would wake up with cold feet. We tried some cheaper, fleece sacks that would trap the heat in, making his skin clammy. I didn’t feel comfortable using blankets in his crib, so I started researching other options. This is where my baby deedee obsession started.
After falling in love with the Sleep Nest (their heaviest sleep sack), I had to call customer service about a care question and ended up talking to the Operations Manager for 20 minutes about their different products, including pajamas. She sent me a Sleepsie to try, which is a quilted footie pajama with thoughtfully designed non-skid grippy feet (a must have for a kiddo on the move + hardwood floors). Did I mention how adorable these pjs are? It has contrasting elbow and knee patches – need I say more?
Everett spent many chilly winter mornings in his cozy sleepsie reading his favorite book, Duck & Goose.
This summer we started using the Sleepsie Lite and the love affair deepened. Let me be clear, just in case you weren’t sure at this point: I love these pajamas! The short sleeves and footless one-piece design is perfect for warmer weather, but the best part is the material. It feels like your favorite t-shirt that just keeps getting softer and cozier with every wash. And as a busy mom, I really appreciate the quality of these products. All the cheaper pajamas we tried either fall apart, fade or shrink. Not these. The colors are still vibrant and like I said, they’ve become softer and more broken-in with every wash.
Even though Everett is 17 months old and we are past the point of middle of the night diaper changes, I wanted to point out this really awesome feature on the Sleepsie + Sleepsie Lite – there is a zipper on the inseam of the legs that makes diaper changes fairly painless. This would have been a game changer during the early infant days with 10 diaper changes a day, but I’ll still take the extra help when it comes to changing a squirmy toddler! They are truly are awesome pajamas and you won’t be disappointed.
I know, I know. You get the point!
Verdict: Splurge on quality, cozy pajamas. At $29 each, these are an investment, however, your kiddo wears them for 12+ hours every single night, so you want to make sure they are comfortable and they won’t fall apart. These fit the bill.
Now onto the fun part!

July 25, 2016I have a one month old who poops about 15 times a day. Ok, that’s an exaggeration, but you get the idea. So I was just thinking the other day how awesome it would be to find a sleeper that had a zipper along the seam between the legs for easy middle of the night diaper changes. The sleepsie has this and looks super cute and comfy too!

July 26, 2016Oh I totally know how that schedule goes. We dealt with blowouts almost every single day when E was an infant, and honestly we still have them sometimes. These pjs were a lifesaver that they didn’t have to go over his head in that situation but they also held up to all that wear and tear!! Good luck with the giveaway, but either way you should definitely check these out for your little one! You’ll love them. 🙂

July 25, 2016The peacock was my favorite color on him too. I love bright, bold colors and I can’t resist the contrasting elbow + knee patches! And thank you so much for the sweet words about E… he’s quite the little charmer and knows it already. 🙂

July 21, 2016Taylor, the zipper is a total game changer. Whoever thought snaps on newborn outfits were a good idea??? Zippers all the way!
Kat
July 21, 2016Those look super comfy! I agree on splurging a bit on PJs because I feel they get so much more wear out of them compared to everyday outfits….and they are getting washed the most.
shutthefrontdorr
July 21, 2016YES! Everett is in his pjs from about 7 p.m. until 12 p.m. the next day most days because he hangs out in pjs all morning. He definitely puts them through the wringer and they’ve held up beautifully, which is why I can recommend them without hesitation!
