Our dear friends, Ryan + Hayley, are getting married in a few months and we are so honored that they asked us to be part of the wedding. We have watched their whole relationship unfold over the last 6 years and I could not be more excited because these two are perfect together.
I mean, look at them… could they be any more adorable??
As one of the only bridesmaids in Denver, I offered to co-host Hayley’s bridal shower. Let’s be honest, it doesn’t take much to convince me to throw a party. 😉 Our girl loves champagne and one of the only things she requested was giant bottles of prosecco. We took that idea and ran with it as a “Brunch & Bubbly” bridal shower. Immediately I envisioned graphic black + white stripes with gold accents and then it all came together from there.
Even though there aren’t photos to prove it, we had some really delicious food including two different quiches, blueberry french toast casserole, salad, caprese salad skewers, fruit, chocolate, etc. The main attraction was the mimosa bar with a variety of juice options such as classic orange juice, pomegranate blueberry, grapefruit and peach mango. And prosecco. Lots and lots of prosecco. I won’t tell you how many bottles we went through, but let’s just say it was a fun party. 🙂
After everyone had a chance to enjoy brunch, we sat down for a few games and presents. We played a video version of The Nearlywed Game which was hilarious. Ryan + Jeff work together, so I was able to pop over to their office before the shower to ask Ryan some questions and record his answers. I edited it into a fun little video that I played for everyone at the shower. It was a huge hit! We also played “He Said/She Said” and “Guess how many kisses” with Starbucks gift cards for the winners.
This amazing cake was ordered from a local bakery, Gateaux Bakery. They made the cake topper out of chocolate and brushed it with shimmery gold to match the theme. It was perfect.
A giant, HUGE thank you to my shower co-host, Theresa. This was a total team effort to create the vision and execute all the details to make it an event that Hayley would never forget and LOVE. I think mission accomplished!
One last note: When in hosting mode, I definitely don’t pick up my camera as much as I should. I know I’m not alone because as host, you spend so much time making sure everything is perfectly set up, everyone had a drink in their hand and plenty of food, but remember to take a few minutes capture the moment and all of your hard work! Thank you to Hayley and Heidi for sharing all their photos with me!
xo,
Rachael

July 15, 2016Beautiful couple and shower! I’m hosting a Wine and Cheese bridal shower in late August and unlike you, I am not the seasoned hostess so I may need some ideas. I’m loving the gold accents.
