If you’ve been following along with us lately, you’ll know that sickness has hit our house this season. HARD.
Emmy started daycare part-time in November and it seems that she has picked up every bug known to man since. We have been battling ear infections, colds, flu, and croup. You name it, it seems that we’ve had it, which, unfortunately, also means passing it around to the rest of the house.
It’s so hard to see our kiddos sick, and especially if there’s not much we can do for them. Some illnesses, like colds, just need to run its course. But there are other times that I don’t hesitate to step in with medicine.
Emmy had double ear infections recently, which caused her to spike fevers of 104.5 degrees for a few nights straight. It was awful. She was absolutely miserable but was refusing to eat, drink much, and certainly refused to take medicine.
Thankfully we were prepared. Our medicine cabinet is stocked with a variety of medicine, first aid necessities (including what seems like a lifetime stock of Band-Aids ha) but most importantly for this case FeverAll Infant Strength Suppositories.
Our pediatrician recommended FeverAll to us when Everett was a baby, but never needed to use it. When Emmy got really sick though, I’m so glad we had it ready.
We were a little nervous about the idea of a suppository at first, but then I heard that FeverAll is the #1 doctor recommended suppository brand, so I started researching more. I found out that FeverAll contains fewer inactive ingredients than other infants’ fever reducer (vs Infants’ Tylenol or Motrin). It also has no parabens, high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors or preservatives. As a mom, these are all good things that made me feel more comfortable about what type of medicine I’m giving my children.
I know that fevers can be really scary, especially when you are a first-time parent. Fever isn’t something to fear though – truly it’s just means that the body is doing its natural job to fight off an infection. But when the numbers on the thermometer keep creeping up, I’d rather be prepared at 1 a.m. instead of sending my husband to the closest 24-hour pharmacy!
My suggestion for all new parents is to be prepared with a well-stocked medicine cabinet including a digital rectal thermometer (the most accurate way to take a baby’s temperature), as well as having acetaminophen on hand in both liquid AND suppository form. You just never know when your child is going to be so sick that they can’t even swallow the liquid form.
Another FeverAll advantage? No confusing dosing chart! FeverAll provides an accurate dosage of acetaminophen without measuring!
Please note that this is NOT intended as medical advice – always contact your pediatrician with any questions about your child’s fever, especially if your baby is younger than 6 months old. I just wanted to share this awesome product with you because we’ve found it really helpful in our house and I thought you might as well! December 24, 2018Kids bring home SO many bugs and viruses. It’s nuts! It’s awesome that we live in a day and age where we have medications to treat childhood illnesses though; I feel quite fortunate. Saying that, I’m sure my kids would prefer I stuck with oral medications and a digital ear thermometer. 😉

December 22, 2018I’ve never heard of these, but I bet it’s super helpful. My kids tend to run fevers after vaccinations and at the hint of a cold, so sometimes I’ll let them ride it out but sometimes they need relief.
