I’ll admit it — when my son was a baby, I didn’t wear him in a carrier much. I had all the best intentions though! We had the Baby Bjorn One carrier ready to go, specifically chosen because it could go from newborn to toddler. Little did I know how much he would hate it. Everett never seemed comfortable and would fuss every single time. I just assumed that he hated being in the carrier, so we stuck with the stroller everywhere we went or we just carried him the old fashioned way in our arms.
Then the stars aligned and LÍLLÉbaby came into my life.
My dear friend, Amanda, worked at a local baby boutique and spent some time with me showing me different carriers + how to properly wear them. Everett was just over a year old and I had long given up on a carrier, but once we had him properly fitted into a LÍLLÉbaby, he was totally content. Everett was then featured in a LÍLLÉbaby photoshoot (how adorable is he????) and a gorgeous Complete Embossed Citrus 6-in-1 carrier came home with us. That’s when the love affair began.
Fast forward to baby #2…. we knew things would be different this time around because running after a toddler required both hands available. I was determined to make it work this time. So I armed myself with all the options.

✓LÍLLÉbaby Complete 6-in-1
Today, I want to talk to you about the ring sling, which has been my absolute favorite the last few months for Emerson.
I was a ring sling newbie but I loved the idea of them. I saw beautiful photos on Instagram of women using ring slings and newborns looking so snug and adorable. I ordered the LÍLLÉbaby Ring Sling in Silver Straw and it was love at first sight. The color is gorgeous and the quality is unbelievable. I would expect nothing less from LÍLLÉ.
The ring sling is made of linen, which keeps it light and breathable, and the silver rings are high quality zinc alloy. Emmy was born late June, so I’ve been wearing her all summer and this fabric is a dream. It’s also super light, so I can easily throw it into my diaper bag when I’m running out of the house without the bulk from my structured carrier.
Every time I wear Emmy in the ring sling, I receive SO many compliments. Seriously you guys, people stop me all the time to comment about how beautiful the sling is and how cozy Emmy looks in it. I love being able to keep her so close, which is huge with a newborn. I can be a little paranoid — constantly checking her positioning to make sure she’s secure + her airway isn’t blocked, but honestly, the sling is so easy to use, it’s hard to mess it up!
A few other features that I wanted to mention – the sling comes with a removable zippered pouch, which easily slips on or off, that can be used to hold keys, wallet, phone, etc. That truly makes this a hands-free carrier! The pouch also acts as a layer of padding under the rings, if you find them uncomfortable for any reason.
Also, it’s machine washable. All of you moms out there know that machine washable is a MUST with a baby. Spit up? Blow outs? Sticky hands? All of it is gone in the wash and the sling just becomes more broken in + softer with every wash.

Lastly, Amanda, my wonderfully generous friend, now works for LÍLLÉbaby and agreed to come over to give me a lesson on ring slings. She showed me all the different ways to wear it and gave me a few safety tips as well. She also graciously agreed to make this video as a Ring Sling 101 Tutorial. For any of you that are clueless about the right way to get started with your new ring sling, watch this and you’ll be set to go!
Since the LÍLLÉbaby Ring Sling is made to work for newborns (7lbs) to toddlers (33lbs), I plan on using this beautiful sling for years to come.
Let me know if you have any questions that I can help answer for you or point you into the right direction! One last bonus – Here’s a code for $10 off a purchase of $95+. Happy baby wearing!

October 16, 2017Me too. I love keeping her snuggled right next to me, which helps keep her calm for longer periods of time. I’m going to miss it when she doesn’t fit so easily in my arms one day!!
