If you didn’t catch the big announcement on Instagram, we are so excited to share the news that we are expecting baby #2!! Everett is going to be a big brother and the entire family is over the moon!
I know we waited a little longer than most people to announce our big news, but we’ve been trying to take every opportunity to share the news in person with our family + friends before making it social media official. We’ll be sharing quite a bit more now that the cat’s out of the bag though. 😉
Currently, I’m 22 weeks. A little over the half way mark and things are moving right along. The first trimester was a little rough…to put it mildly! Quite honestly, I felt horrible and absolutely drained of any energy until about week 16, which was the beginning of 2017. The fall was filled with one sickness after another in our house, which was brutal on top of the morning sickness that seemed to last all day + night. That’s why I’ve been mostly MIA the last few months, but I really appreciate you guys sticking with me in the meantime!
Every time I think about Everett becoming a big brother, I get a little emotional. I love how excited he is already – he talks to baby + kisses my belly, which just melts my heart. But if I’m being 100% honest, I’m also a little terrified to make the transition from one kiddo to two. Everett has had our complete attention for the last 2 years and his whole world is about to change in ways that I can’t even predict.
People say that kids are adaptable and we’ll all figure out a new normal, but I’ve also heard that the transition from one to two is the hardest. So help me please! How did you prepare your kids for a new addition to the family? I’d love to hear any suggestions you have to help prepare our little dude for his upcoming big brother duties.
Thank you for all the love + support over the last few weeks! It truly means the world.
**Special thanks to beachtownbaby. They sent us Everett’s co-pilot shirt to help make our big announcement.

March 1, 2017Thanks, Kitty! I sure hope that it’s all a good sign of what’s to come. He has sometimes gotten a little jealous with other kiddos, but maybe when it’s his own sibling, he’ll be more understanding? I can only hope!

March 1, 2017Ah congratulations!! I have three ? Not too much longer to go now for you, although isn’t it always the last couple of months that drag?! X

March 1, 2017Thanks, Emma! Three? You are a master! Teach me your ways with the best tips and tricks! I’ve heard the transition from 1 to 2 is the hardest, then any additional kiddos is a walk in the park. Have you found this to be true too?

February 28, 2017Oh wow, congratulations Rachel! I’m happy for you and everything will sure go well. 🙂 Some of my friends with more than one kid have said it’s kind of easier at some point when the kids start to entertain each other.
shutthefrontdorr
March 1, 2017That’s the kind of encouragement I need!! 🙂 I know eventually it gets easier, I’m just scared of the initial transition and shock to all of us, but I’m sure we’ll get into a rhythm soon enough!
